Sometimes Local Education Authorities will broker bespoke packages of support. This can be additional tuition as part of a 'personal budget' allocation or a short term boost of tuition alongside attendance at a registered provision or online school / college. These situations are RARE as quite rightly we should always be aiming to get young people into full time education at an Ofsted registered provider.
We continue to provide for occasional requests made by Hampshire, West Sussex and Kent LEA in this regard. Please remember that hours will be very limited to remain within the law, and several of these are likely to be online rather than in a hub venue. Unless funded by social care it is unlikely that any hours after 4:30pm will be provided. Equally hours within the school day will be kept to a minimum as we are NOT a registered setting, rather tuition is available at several community locations, your home and online.
R-OUT-ES Project (The Reach OUT Enjoy & Succeed Project) for Surrey LEA clients
Formed 3 years ago, this project was designed to provide heavily subsidised qualified teaching and counselling support to young people under the Local Education Authority funded by EHCP. It was possible to provide these services at 35% less than our private client fees due to a charitable investment, and a ‘good will’ relationship with the newly formed Arun Court School, whom provided a senior manager on development release. It is not in any other way connected to Arun Court School, which is a registered NMI serving students aged 11-17
A maximum of 15 hours of blended in person group tuition (with hours outside of traditional college hours as much as possible) was provided at the Bravura Offices, Bramley Library and other venues, with hours and programmes being decided each term in response to student needs and staff availability. This is NOT a 6th form college, and indeed for most students it provides additional support alongside college. In some cases it can be used as an 'alternative provider' for 1 year to support a young person in meeting the criteria for a delayed college placement, provided they are also registered with an online college such as Open Study College.
To date the project has worked alongside students registered at Reigate College and Guildford college, helping them to maintain their placement. It has also worked as service to support 10 young people into college or employment.
This service is not taking any new clients and will cease in July 2022 as we will no longer be working with Surrey Local Education Authority.
