Arun Court School consists of a team of competent, committed and experienced employees. Some staff are part time but the staffing represents an equivalance of 9.5 - 10.5 full time staff (at times representing a ratio of almost 1:2) Each day in the front entrance the staff: student ratio along with the name of the designated SLT leader, the DSL and lead first aider is displayed for parent information. Our SLT are the staff that set the direction for the school.

Has mentored several new head teachers via NCSL. She herself has had 3 headships and is a director of two successful companies. Educational consultant for 15 years giving support with ASD, mental health in the curriculum, student behaviour & staff coaching models. Independent leadership and business coach. Other certifications as a family support worker, therapeutic coach & ASD specialist. Medition & mindfulness teacher, massage therapist. Workforce first aid.
Role: To hold the ultimate responsibility for the strategic direction and achievement of the school. Proprietor responsibilities and legal liabilities. Also teaches year 11 English. Role is 'executive' as she is on site 3 days a week and holds other business / education responsibilities within the wider company and services, having delegated the daily operations to the Proprietor of School role.
Associate Executive Head Teacher: James White
Company DSL & Director of administration, commissioning, health & safety and compliance
Associate (assistant) role as is not a qualified teacher. Education experience through leading apprenticeship programmes and young business coaching. Certified mindfulness coach and solutions focussed coach. Current business interests lie in construction investment and mental health support for men. Leads on commissioning across 2 companies and is responsible for health & safety at the school in collaboration with the EMAT member for H&S, Colin Brown.
Is mainly involved with student voice, as is more connected to post 16 tuition services than Arun Court School, but carries out drumming workshops with AC students and accompanies on trips. Is the company DSL so is always on hand to support the school DSL team.
James is the main link for Local Education Authorities. Work force First Aid & Trained in safeguarding to Ofqual level 3 & DSL. He is a qualified mental health and executive coach.
Chair of External Advisory & Monitoring Board (EMAT) : Paul Phillips
(This is a voluntary position with expenses renumeration)
Role: Leads the EMAT body (governing body alternative)
In his career, Paul has worked for several SEND specialist settings in a care and mental health capacity, including Grafham Grange and Apple Orchard. Whilst carrying out these positions he was also developing and running his own canine behaviour and psychology business. Paul owns and runs a dog care company and is a consultant on animal behaviour. He is one of the few canine behaviouralists working with the MOD and the Police. He also gives advice to schools and individuals on the training and use of therapy animals to support mental health. Paul in addition to his role within EMAT regularly supports our youth work including supporting work experience programs and helping students who are finding it difficult to engage with studies due to a need for mentoring support.
Advisory Lead on safeguarding compliance & Governance Leadership support: Joanna Evans

Jo is an ofqual regulalted safegaurding trainer and educational consultant. she has had 3 headships. She regulalrly carries out safeguarding reviews across the UK and beyond. she has worked around the world on curriculum design and promoting quality EYFS provision.
Principal of school
Qualified and experienced secondary teacher and school leader. Worked in leadership in large secodnary schools. Particular experience in drama, PE, PSHCE alson with experience of young people with eating disorder, anxiety needs and transgender / transneutral community members. Vicki regularly writes for the Times Educational Supplement.
First Aider & Trained in safeguarding to Ofqual level 3 + DSL
Responsible for the daily running of the school and the success of the school curriculum. Influences and supports the strategic direction. Also holds position of Lead DSL on site. Also teaches year 11 GCSE PE and leads on PSHCE
Associate Principal of School
Registered holistic life coach, meditation teacher and massage therapist. Psychology degree studies. Qxbridge trained in leadership in context. Trained DSL.

Careers Teacher and daily management support
Sharon works for the R-OUT-Es program within Big Bear Bespoke Education and delivers careers teaching at Arun Court School one day a week. She sometimes acts as a daily manager to release the SLT for specific tasks.
