Our original policy and ethos was created in collaboration with the NSPCC. We have been externally validated as 'excellent' by an independent safeguarding consultancy firm. Ofsted no longer has grades for safeguarding unfortuntately, with it just being a 'met' or 'not met' judgement, but we of course met all criteria.
For information regarding GDPR (Data Protection) in line with the new legislation, please read the statement below which is explained to all students and parents.
Please see the below polices for further information on how we keep students safe whilst in our care.
We operate an open-access policy - just ask if you'd like more information. We have over 100 policies; please ask at reception for a current list. We are also happy to share risk assessments with parents.
HOWEVER WE BELIEVE THAT IT ISN'T PAPER THAT KEEPS PEOPLE SAFE - IT'S A LIVED ETHOS, COMMON SENSE AND VIGILANCE!
All our staff complete the NSPCC safegaurding training prior to their employment being agreed and this is repeated every 2 years
Every half term we have a safeguarding supervision day
All staff have to gain a further specialist qualification in one of the relevant areas of safegaurding so each area has its own 'advocate'
Our key worker system ensure that families have a genuine link and support between home and school
